The Town of
Cupar would also like to use this time to inform and remind the residents of
Cupar about some important matters of the town:
á NEW WATER TREATMENT PLANT UPDATE: We are planning a public meeting in the near future to update you as to the progress of the project.
Watch for posters and newsletters notifying you as to when they
will be. If you have any questions please bring them to the meetings. Thank you.
á Water billings: Every new residence using the water/sewer/garbage services in the Town must register at the Town Office.
This service requires a $100.00 refundable deposit. Bills for the service are mailed quarterly. A 10% penalty is applied to overdue bills.
Please keep your billing current, as well as your water readings. Non-payment of Utility Accounts may result in discontinued services without written notice.
A
reconnection fee of Fifty dollars ($50.00) will be charged and must be paid
prior to reconnection to cover the expense of turning off the water and turning
it on again.
á
SEWER PROBLEMS: If you are having sewer problems please contact the
Cupar Town Office at 723- 4324.
á Disposal site: Disposal site is open now on Wednesdays 3 pm until 7 pm and Saturdays 10 am until 4 pm. This is weather permitting.
There will be an attendant present to
take your fee at the gate.
á Dogs/cats: Please be advised that your dog and cat licenses are due for the 2010 Year. Please respect your neighbors as well as their pets;
keep your pets from running at large or unattended. All pets must be licensed. Please keep your pet either on a leash or in your yard that
is enclosed.
á RCMP: Call 726-5230 for reporting and 911 for an emergency. Also the RCMP will be enforcing the speed limit, noise violations and speeding/ racing violations
more strictly in and around the town.
á CUPAR FIRE DEPARTMENT: is looking for male and female volunteers. If you are interested please contact Town Office 723-4324 or attend

Meetings every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Cupar
Fire Hall. New Fire Hall
construction has begun.

PUBLIC LIBRARY :
Our hours are Wed 1:30pm to 8:00pm.and
Fri 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. Library
cards are free to those 5yrs and up.
Preschool
Storytime is on Fridays at 1 pm for 3-5 year olds.

group is lead by board members and parents
A new computer was purchased for public use. Thanks to the community for supporting
our fundraisers and making this possible.
MotherŐs Day basket draw was made on May 7. Thanks to donated gifts from Sandra
Ban, Mary Ban and Ann Lucas. The
next prize is for June 18 as a combination ŇFatherŐs Day/ Oh CanadaÓ gift from Andrew
ScheerŐs MP office. We thank our
local businesses for their donations and support.
New library system starts mid June with new library cards
and provincially set fines for overdue books!

A
huge thank you goes out to all the people who donated their time and energy to
the ŇPothole and Pick Up DayÓ. It
was a huge success.
Our volunteers
covered all of the town streets and we filled a 30 yard bin with the debris
that would otherwise be loose and flying around.
Thanks for making the town shine again.
á THE CUPAR PLUS 50 CLUB: The SSFA (Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association) Provincial Games will be held in Regina July 6-8, 2010.
In order to qualify you are
required to participate in a playoff in our Prairie Central District, must be
55 plus years of age and purchase a SSFA Membership ($6.00).
Cupar Plus 50 Club hosted the SSFA
playoffs for shuffleboard on May 15, 2010.

FOR
YOUR INFORMATION: A
number of complaints have come in regarding loud vehicles and high music
levels. We would like to advise
everyone that
Bylaw 1-93 is being enforced and you may be ticketed by the RCMP
for the violation. If you hear
loud vehicles or blaring music please do not hesitate to
contact the RCMP and
report it.

CUPAR
SWIMMING POOL: The swimming pool is tentatively
scheduled to open for the season at the end of June. There will be a week of free swimming as a
thank you to the
community and district, for your time, patience and continued patronage during
the renovations in the last season. Please keep an eye open for
swimming lesson
registrations coming out.

driverŐs list
is being requested to drive for those in the community who are in need. If you would like your name to be put
on the list as a driver,
please contact the Cupar Health Center at 723-4300 to
register.

The Town of
Cupar has heard the call of the residents regarding garden debris
and
branches.
We are
currently setting up a schedule for picking up garden and
yard
debris from the front
curbs on
Mondays and tree branches bundled together in the back lanes
for
pick up and chipping, weather permitting.
