The Town of Cupar would like to send out many thanks and best wishes to the previous Mayor and Council, and wish them all the best in the future.

TOWN OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS

IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY PLEASE CONTACT SCOTT WILKE (TOWN FOREMAN @ 306-726-8220) OR ANY ONE OF THE COUNCIL MEMBERS. 

 

The Town of Cupar would also like to use this time to inform and remind the residents of Cupar about some important matters of the town:

á       Water billings: Every new residence using the water/sewer/garbage services in the Town must register at the Town Office.  This service requires a $100.00 refundable deposit.  Bills for the service are mailed quarterly.  A 10% penalty is applied to overdue bills.  Please keep your billing current, as well as your water readings.  Non-payment of Utility Accounts may result in discontinued services without written notice.  A reconnection fee of Fifty dollars ($50.00) will be charged and must be paid prior to reconnection to cover the expense of turning off the water and turning it on again.Ó

á       Disposal site: DISPOSAL SITE IS CLOSED

á       Dogs/cats: Please respect your neighbors as well as their pets; keep your pets from running at large or unattended.  All pets must be licensed.  Please keep your pet either on a leash or in your yard that is enclosed.

á       RCMP: Call 726-5230 for reporting and 911 for an emergency.

á       COMMUNITY PINS: are available at the Town Office for $2.00 a pin.

á       CUPAR FIRE DEPARTMENT: is looking for male and female volunteers.  If you are interested please contact Danny Wagner @ 723-4281, Town Office 723-4324 or attend Fire Meetings every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Cupar Fire Hall.   

        New Fire Hall construction will be built in sections and has begun, first section to be completed by January 2010.  

á       LIGHTEN UP FOR CHRISTMAS: All residents of Cupar are invited to let their sprit of Christmas shine in a festive challenge for the BEST Christmas display.

        Light up for the evening of Wednesday December 16, 7:00pm.  For information, please contact Sandra Geber, Tracey Daradich or Gloria Woodward. 

á       CUPAR PUBLIC LIBRARY:  welcomes Ann Lucas as our new Librarian.  She replaces Angela Irvine who now works at the Strasbourg Library.  We wish both ladies well in their endeavors and invite you to stop in at the library to meet Ann.  Our hours are Wed to Fri from 10:30am to 5:00pm.  Library cards are free to those 5yrs and up.  Fifteen children attended out Halloween Night at the Library.Ó  It was a good turnout for the Book, Bake, and Craft sale at the Library on Nov 6.  Thanks to all for their participation and support.  We really appreciate it.  Our next board meeting is Wed. Nov. 18 @ 6:30 at the Library.  New members and ideas are welcome.  Call 723-4749 during hours for more information on our programs and resources.  The theme books for Nov are War Stories, and for Dec it will be Christmas (baking, gifts and stories.)

á       MAILBOX: The Town Office has attached a mailbox to the front of the building for after hours.

á       WATER TREATMENT PLANT: The Cupar Water Treatment Plant Pilot Project will be coming to an end in the middle of December 2009.  Water Treatment Plant construction will begin in spring of 2010.
